Happy (tired) Monday

Sleeping child with pen

This is my boy, in a picture taken a few months ago. Yes, he fell asleep like that.

This is about how I feel right now. I’m writing a synopsis (with some serious help) for my novel, and it’s much more taxing than I ever realised. I’m Mostly done on the trip planning, but still a decent sized list of things to do. And I promised the kid I’d play Octonauts today. This is probably how Susie Finkbeiner feels too, a handful of days before her next novel is due to the editors. It’s just a busy kind of week. (Onya Suze, you can do it!)

I shouldn’t wonder why the song from The Lion King is going through my head…”there’s more to see than can ever be seen, more to do than can ever be done…” It’s just one of those weeks really.

And, heck, it’s only Monday.

Happy Monday friends! Hope your week is blessed and full. What’s on for you this week?

  1. I tend to push a little too hard sometimes, and I can understand your son!

    Where have I dozed off…

    * Running a bandsaw. Fortunately didn’t leave any fingers behind.
*Hanging on scaffolding. Fifty feet up, the fall might have woken me.
*Welding. I don’t even want to think about that one.
*Writing. There were several pages of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…

I’ve also dozed while on a route march, but that was planned – my mates on either side kept me upright and moving, and we switched off. It works pretty well.

What’s on for this week? Writing, and…

    Welding. Uh, oh.

      • I used to drink 18 cups of coffee every day. I was like a Chihuahua on speed, until my body rebelled.

Oddly enough, the welding was better than when I was fully awake. There’s a lesson in there, on getting one’s head out of the way of one’s hands.

What do YOU think?
